Jessie is the Head of People Operations here at GEEAR and brings 20 years of HR experience with her. She honed her HR skills at a geotechnical engineering firm before moving into the IT space as the Chief Human Resources Officer and expanded her skill sets by becoming their Facility Security Officer as well. From there she went to lead the HR Department at a local mobile dev shop. Jessie is focused on building strong internal partnerships to drive continuous improvement and foster environments where employees can thrive. With a strong foundation in talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, and organizational development, Jessie’s focus is on leveraging data-driven insights and best practices to align HR initiatives with core business objectives and drive successful outcomes.
Jessie graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University (GO RAMS!) with a Business Degree in Human Resources. She holds both a PHR and SHRM-CP Certification.
When Jessie’s not working she’s being a bit crunchy and enjoys cooking, baking with her sourdough starter, making homemade soap, traveling, learning about new cultures and history, and doing anything outside (hiking, gardening, cocktail by the fire pit, floating in the James River, and tending to her backyard chickens). She loves learning new things from other people and sharing what she knows.
